Reception Autumn 1 Week 1

Welcome to Reception!!!!

All of the children have settled into Reception life extremely well and we are feeling very proud. The children have been very busy exploring the classrooms and outdoor area. We have had lots of fun dancing, singing, dressing up and playing different games (our favourite one is We're Going on a Bear Hunt!)

The children had their first PE lesson yesterday and did a fantastic job being wizards and witches hunting for different potions!

Our topic this term is 'Me and My Community'. We will be learning all about the special people who help us and have lots of exciting visitors planned for the upcoming weeks too!

Please remember to label all clothing/items that your child brings to school with them.

SCHOOL ADMISSIONS - excluding Nursery

For school admissions information and to apply, go to:

Children born between 01/09/2021 - 31/08/2022 are due to start Reception in September 2026.
Applications close on 15th January, 2026. Offer day is in the evening of 16th April, 2026.

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), please note there's a different process for school transfers. You'll need to contact the Special Educational Needs Team directly at sen@havering.gov.uk to discuss changing your child's school.

School will finish for the Christmas Holidays on Friday 19th December (children will leave school at 1:15pm) and will return to school on Monday 5th January 2026.
