Reception Home Learning Update- Week 7

Mrs Zaayman & Miss Kelly - 22 May 2020

Hi all,

We hope you are all continuing to stay safe and are having lots of fun in the lovely sunshine that we have had this week.

Please don’t forget to email us some pictures of what you are doing at home. You can email any pictures to lkelly@brady.havering.sch.uk 😊

There has been a lot of focus around mental health and children's mental health this week in the media. It is so important for all of us to look after our mental health as well as our physical health.

So, encourage your child to talk about their emotions and explore them. Encourage them to try to explain what emotion they are feeling and why they are feeling that way. There is a lot of uncertainty in the world at the moment and they may feel confused and distressed by their sudden change of routine.

So, I have found some different activities that you can do with your child to support them look forward to the future and the brighter days ahead as well as explore and understand their emotions. Please note, this is entirely optional and can be shared with us or kept private. We miss all of the children lots and lots and hope they are doing okay.

If you do hold any concerns about your child and their mental health, or would just like some more mental health resources, please feel free to email us and we will help as much as we possibly can.

Mrs Zaayman’s and Miss Kelly’s Learning Challenge:
We have received some pictures this week of children who have completed the challenges, but I am keeping the 2nd challenge for the children who haven’t completed it and would like to.  Remember, all you have to do to enter is complete the activity below and email a picture to lkelly@brady.havering.sch.uk  πŸ˜Š

Challenge 1-   Gather a selection of objects from around your house or garden. Put them in order of size from smallest to largest. Don’t forget to email us a picture! (2 housepoints)

Challenge 2- As we are returning to school soon, write about or draw a picture of what you are looking forward to the most. If you are not returning to school, draw a picture or write about what you will be doing at home! (3 housepoints) Don’t forget to write your name on your work! 😊

Our Class Carrots!
Our carrots have really enjoyed the nice weather that we have had this week. I have been watering them every day and they are starting to grow. How many carrots do you think we will have once they are fully grown? Email me with your estimates at lkelly@brady.havering.sch.uk 😊

Have a look at our carrots!
