Reception Summer 1 Week 5

Mrs Divall - 23 May 2023

Big Wide World!

This week we have been super busy with our new topic Big Wide World! We have been learning all about the world and looked at lots of globes and maps! We have spoken lots about where we have been on holiday, what countries we would like to visit and what animals live where. We are also starting to look at different climates and enjoyed listening to The Seven Continents song and the Habitats song which you can practice singing at home.

In Maths, we have continued to practice recognising and correctly forming numbers up to 20. We have noticed that some children are writing the numbers 2, 3 and 5 backwards so this may be something you can practice at home. This week we have also learnt all about Tangrams. A Tangram is a puzzle that has been dissected into 7 different peices. The children have been amazing at completing the puzzles in class so this week as homework, we are sending home an under the sea tangram that they can complete with you!
