Cedar & Acorn Class Week 1

12 Oct 2020

Wow! What a great first full week we had. Both the Acorn and Cedar class have settled into full days at school really well.

The children spent their time last week enjoying different aspects of the Reception environment from the home corner, to the garden to messy play. We spent time looking at and learning what the children can do (a baseline assessment) and we have been learning all about Autumn in our Topic. The children had great fun completing Autumn time scavenger hunts in the garden, improving their cutting skills by cutting out leaves and painting hedgehogs in lovely autumnal colours.

Starting on Monday 12th October 2020 there will be a piece of homework for your child to complete using SeeSaw. This is not due in, it is to be completed at home. After half term, the children will start to get homework weekly- this is when you will start to see the different sounds that they have been learning in Phonics etc. Reading books will not be sent home until after half term.

This week, we are learning about 2D shapes and our Topic is The Gruffalo!

Please take a look at some of the fun times that the children have been having this week. Also please feel free to leave a comment on the page- we love hearing from you.
