Home Learning Week 1 Update

Mrs Zaayman & Miss Kelly - 26 Mar 2020

Hi all,

This week has been quite different to say the least.  We miss you all very much and hope you are keeping safe and healthy. We would love to know what you have been up to at home so we can share it on our website. Please do email us photos of any home learning so we can upload it to the website! You can send these to either myself or Mrs Zaayman. My email is: lkelly@brady.havering.sch.uk.

I know during these unpredictable times it is easy to become stressed and overwhelmed, so stay calm, stay safe and please do email either of us if there is anything we can help with!

The home learning packs were handed out last Friday (20th March), if you didn’t receive a copy they are available to download on the website under the home learning tab. Alternatively, if you would like to go and collect a copy, you can do this from the school office on selected days.

Last week at school our topic was ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ where we planted carrot seeds as a class. I have continued to water the carrots and left them outside so they can soak up all this lovely sunshine we have been having. Nothing has appeared as of yet, but I am hopeful we will see something really soon! (Have a look at the picture at the bottom of the page!)

Miss Kelly’s and Mrs Zaayman’s Learning Challenge

Each week we will set an optional challenge for you to do at home. By completing the challenge you will be rewarded with house points which will be added when we return to school. The challenge requires photo evidence and all photo evidence must be emailed to either of us at lkelly@brady.havering.sch.uk ๐Ÿ˜Š

Challenge 1- (2 house points): Draw a picture of outside your window (hopefully with the sun still shining!) ๐Ÿ˜Š. You could then talk about the season we are currently in and what happens during this time of year.

Resources

Here are some links for some great home learning activities that have been advertised in the last few days or that we have come across and thought that you may like to try:

https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/ Audio books read aloud by David Walliams
https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1/videos PE with Joe Wicks every morning
https://www.pacey.org.uk/working-in-childcare/spotlight-on/being-school-ready/ This is a great website, it includes short videos for parents to watch to understand how to support children in Early Years.
https://www.twinkl.co.uk
https://www.themathsfactor.com/games/ Maths games for counting. You can make a free account for more resources.

Finally, don’t forget to send us some pictures of what you have been doing so I can update our website for all of your friends to see. This could include: counting, playing, singing, cooking, painting, reading your favourite book or anything else. I will update the website early next week with any pictures that we have been sent.

Stay safe and healthy! We look forward to seeing you really soon!

Mrs Zaayman, Miss Kelly & the Reception Team x
