Reception Autumn 2 Week 3 Diwali

Mrs Duvall and Miss Skelton - 09 Nov 2023

This week we have been learning about Diwali. The children made Diya lamps and participated in dancing with ribbons. We also had a very special Diwali assembly led by Mrs Shah. We saw her beautiful sari and she explained that during Diwali Hindus/Sikhs wear special clothes, eat sweets, exchange presents and have fireworks.

We are working hard at phonics every day and continue to practise our handwriting every day. In maths we have been looking at shapes, practising the names of the 2D shapes and manipulating them to make Rangoli patterns and Kandinsky pictures.
