Reception home learning
Mrs Divall, Mrs Zaayman and Mrs Degun - 04 Oct 2021
Hi Parents and carers,
A couple of you asked about this:
Numberblocks – find this AMAZING resource on cbeebies, we sometimes use numberblocks as part of our maths teaching and really recommend it.
Alphablocks – just as amazing as numberblocks but for developing early reading skills- definitely worth a watch – find it on cbeebies too!
The children have also enjoyed playing Welcome to the Zoo on Phonics play and Sound Starters on phonics play as another resource you could have a look at.
Our homework expectation is that the children read their shared reading book with you at least three times a week and you can supplement this with your own library or home books. In time, your children will bring home Read Write Inc reading books when appropriate from the programme. Each week we will provide you with the 4 sounds that have been taught in your child’s phonics group. You will receive this in paper form tomorrow. Don’t forget you also have the homework map to select additional extra challenges if you would like to.
We will send home an optional weekly maths homework with the phonics information each week. This does not need to be returned to school but can be used by you to support your child’s learning at home.
