Our first week meeting Bog baby
Mrs Divall and Mrs Zaayman - 18 Nov 2019
Last week we started learning about Bog Baby!
We created ponds, discussing what animals may or may not live in a pond. Some of us still really prefer to believe crocodiles do live in ponds….
We have made beautiful pictures of magical ponds, including bluebells like Bob Baby’s home has.
We have appreciated the beautiful illustrations in the book and during our PSHE time we talked about why Bog Baby had to go back to the bog, even though Chrissie loved him.
We have started making a shared class book of our own, about Bog baby. We are continuing this work this week.
In phonics we learned c , k , u and this week we are learning b , f , e
We are practising blending and segmenting three letter (cvc) words such as b-a-d, c-u-p etc.
Please practise this at home too.
In maths we were learning to ‘estimate’ and then count carefully to check afterwards. We have been playing in the number range 0-20. We played lots of practical games and have focussed on sensible estimations, even though it is fun to say 100000!
