Under the Sea in Reception

Mr B Hetchin - 25 Mar 2017

Wow what a busy week we have had in reception. On Monday we had a wonderful surprise with Mrs Divall coming to visit. The children were so excited to give her the cards and pictures they have been making for Ralph.

Our topic this week has been Under The Sea. The children have shared their own ideas and experiences during lessons. We've looked at sea animals, deep sea divers, what sea creatures eat and learnt how to stay safe in the water. The children even had a special lesson from Mr Bishop about messages in a bottle.

This week the children have been working really hard to use their phonics in independent writing. We've seen some great sentences. It's great to see the children's confidence growing as they use their HFWRD knowledge and phonics skills to write some amazing messages in a bottle, facts about sea animals and their own posters about staying safe.

In Maths the children have looked at telling the time. It's amazing how quickly they have picked it up and many of the children  know not only o'clock times, but also half past times.

The children have even made their own cards and gifts for Mother's Day, but we won't spoil the surprise!!!!

All of staff wish you a fantastic, safe and relaxing weekend and we look forward to seeing all the children on Monday, for the last week before the Easter break.
