Reception Autumn 2 Week 4

Miss Skelton and Miss Booth - 28 Nov 2025

Well done for a great week everyone!

This we in maths, we learned how to sequence events. We practised putting instructions in order by sequencing how to make a jam sandwich, using words such as first, next, then after and finally. Then the children followed their sequence to make their own jam sandwich. Everyone completed the steps and enjoyed eating their sandwich afterwards!

In topic, we have been learning about nocturnal animals. The children wrote sentences about bats using their phonics knoweldge and identified different animals that come out at night. We also explored how bats use their sense of smell to find food by using 'smelling pots'. The children did a fantastic job indtifying smells such as chocolate, banana, cheese, vinegar and oranges.

We have also been working very hard practising for our Christmas show. Please continue to practise lines with your child at home.

Christmas show

10/12/25 - 9:30am
11/12/25 - 2:00pm

This year for the Christmas shows we are asking all children to wear a festive outfit that your child feels comfortable in. For example, a Christmas jumper, jeans or sparkly dress and tights and sensible shoes. Please bring your child’s clothes in a labelled bag by Friday 5th December 2025.
Pupils will be wearing this during the school day so please make sure it is not too expensive or precious as accidents can happen!

Thank you!
