Reception Autumn 2 Week 1

Welcome back!
We hope that you had a lovely half term break.
This week we have been celebrating all about Bonfire Night. People celebrate with fireworks, sparklers. toffee apples and bonfires. We made some lovely splatter firework pictures, ediable sparklers and even learnt a new song 'On Bonfire Night'. We have also been learning about Remebrance Day. We made our own poppies in school. Next week we will be taking part in a two minute silence to pay our respects.
In Maths we have been consolidting our understanding of shapes and we went on a Shape Hunt around school to find them in our enviornment!
We have started our phonics groups and soon the children will bring home their new phonics books. Please ensure you are reading with your children at least three times a week and signing their reading records.
Don't forgot theat next Wednesday is the Parental Consultation Meetings. The school will be closed to pupils. You should have received am email to book with your class teachers.
