Reception Autumn 1 Week 8- Diwali

This week we have been learning all about Diwali! It has been such a busy week. We had a Diwali assembly- Mrs Shah showed us her special Diwali ornaments and Mrs Degun played her big dhol drums- they were loud. We have learnt about the story of diwali, made rangoli patterns, had mehndi (paint) patterns on our hands, danced to Bollywood music, played drums, decorated diva lamps, dressed up in decorative clothing and explored shape.
Mrs Degun's mummy, Mrs Bhambra, came to visit us- it was so special and we really enjoyed learning about different versions of the Diwali story. She made us some special Semollina, we tasted some and lots of us really enjoyed it! Thank you for coming to visit, Mummy Bhambra :).
It's pyjama day tomorrow (Thurs 24th). It's also the last day of half- term. We hope you all have a lovely half- term break.
