Reception Summer 1 Week 1

Welcome back!

We hope you had a fun Easter break. This term we have two new topics - Sunshine and Sunflowers and Big Wide World. 

This week in Reception, we have focused on two stories. Eroll's Garden by Gillian Hibbs and Olivers Vegtables by Vivian French. We began the week by tasting some new vegetables. We had the oppurtunity to try carrotts, broccoli, sweetcorn and string peas. Well done to all of the children who deicded to try something for the first time! We used paint to create our own dream gardens.  These included beautiful apple trees, strawberry patches and lots of sunshine! Tomorrow we will be planting our own seeds in our Reception garden!

In Maths, we have been focsuing on numbers to 20. We have been looking at how to correctly form numbers to 20, making sure our numbers are the right way round! We have been learning how to estimate and played a very exciting estimation game this afternoon. You can practise writing and counting to 20 with your children at home.
