Reception- Diwali & Fireworks!
02 Nov 2021
Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely half term break. We have been super busy this week, learning and speaking about all of the celebrations that are going on. Children were excited to share what they did to celebrate Halloween. We have been learning about the story of Diwali and later on in the week we will be learning about Bonfire Night too. Have a look below for some of the exciting learning opportunities we have taken part in:

Mrs Degun brought in her drums and the children enjoyed exploring and playing different types of music...

We made different types of rangoli patterns and experimented with a range of materials...

We enjoyed mehdni patterns, using paint on our hands...

More drumming fun and making a band...

We built bridges to save Sita like Hanuman did and we roleplayed the story of Diwali...

Mrs Degun's mummy came in to visit us! We spoke about how people celebrate Diwali and looked at some saris, before trying some on ourselves...

We did a super fun science experiment. We spoke about chemical reactions and created a "firework" using diet coke and mentos!
