Aut 1 Week 5 in Reception

05 Oct 2021

This week in Reception we have been having lots of fun learning!

In maths, we have been categorising, sorting and matching items.

In phonics, we have learned m, a, s, d, t, p , i, n and Mrs Degun’s small group have learnt j v y w

In topic, we have been baking and decorating cupcakes after reading So Much by Trish Cooke (you can find this on youtube to watch at home if you want to).

We have been to the computer suite to play Numberblocks make and play – we are getting better at using the mouse to click and drag.

In RE we have been listening to our teachers talk about special celebrations.  Mrs Divall showed us her wedding album and Mrs Degun then showed us hers.  We are making comparisons between our traditions and noticing lots of similarities too.

We learnt about Floating and Sinking last week, but this week have been fascinated by the puddles in the garden and which objects float and sink.

Mrs Zaayman taught us an amazing coat trick – challenge your child to try this at home.

xx
