Diwali :)

19 Oct 2017

Our topic this week has been Diwali. We have learnt about the Diwali story and we have danced to bollywood music. We painted our hands and pretended it was mehndi; later in the week Alina showed us her real mehndi! We have role-played the diwali story and made Rangoli patterns. We created splatter firework paintings outside and we drew fireworks and decorations in coloured rice. It's been fun!

In phonics we learnt 2 new sounds this week
t- down the tower, across the tower
i- down the (insect's) body, dot for his head.

In maths we have been subsidising 1-6 using dice and we are getting very good at our numeral recognition, some of us have gone as far as 20.

We are SO excited for BRICs tomorrow and I can't wait for you to come and visit your child's class and have a look at their fantastic learning.

Don't forget that children are not back until TUESDAY 31st Oct, and all chn should have a PE kit in school after half term, ready to start our PE lessons.

Have a fabulous half term!

Miss Bhambra, Mrs Agates & Miss Hunt.
