Week 4 Learning

01 Feb 2016

This half term is going extremely quickly. It is hard to believe we're now in February!

The children last week were writing amazing animal facts. I have been delighted by how much information they know about animals. We worked on turning a range of facts into simple sentences and using connectives to extend ideas. We will be writing a non-fiction book this week and I look forward to sharing these with you.

In Maths we have been looking at number sequences and using our counting to help us. We have been focussing on counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. The children are gaining in confidence and are all using a 100 square to check their answers.

In topic we are busy making our instruments for our X-Factor show next week. The children are being very creative in the instruments they are making. Our music lessons have been focussing on learning two Beatles classics. I will share some of the songs and photos from our performance.

I have been particularly delighted with the overall improvement of our spelling results over the past few weeks. Furthermore, how the children are using them in their writing.

I hope you all have a lovely week.
