Sum 1 Week 2- How do we travel to school?

27 Apr 2017

This week we have been very excited learning about vehicles and how we travel to school in our topic work. We carried out a traffic survey and saw an aeroplane, motorbikes, vans and lots of cars!

In maths we have been learning how to use our number facts to help us add and subtract 2 digit and 1 digit numbers. I was very impressed with how well Year 1 grasped the taught strategies and applied them independently.

In Literacy we have been reading The Snail and the Whale. We have been absolutely fantastic with our adjectives, some of us have even begun learning about similies! We attempted to write a dilemma for the story today.

In PE we did some gymnastics and practices relay games in teams of 7 or 8. We did the golden mile today. Everybody took part!

We have been focussing a lot on phonics in preparation for our phonics screening test in June. Please continue this at home.

Miss Bhambra :)
