Bye Bye Bog Baby
Mrs Divall & Mrs Zaayman - 22 Nov 2018
This week we are saying goodbye to Bog Baby. We have had such fun learning lots with him and about him.
In Maths we have been counting how many Bog Babies are in a pond and counting different pond animals altogether such as Bog Babies, newts, ducks etc. We have also weighed different objects against Bog Baby and identified if they are lighter or heavier than Bog Baby. As you can see we used balance scales and even tried to identify if any objects could balance our scales by weighing the same as each other.
In phonics we have continued learning and recapping sounds and as always your child has a homework sheet to practice with you at home.
The children thought about Bog Baby’s characteristics and created a replica using laptops and a drawing programme (this was a lot of fun). They also thought about what a relative of Bog Baby might look like, thinking in particular about colour, size etc.
It has begun to get REALLY cold this week, please could you remember to send in scarves, gloves, hats etc. with your chid (all labelled with their name) as we like to be both inside and outside as much as possible in Reception.
We hope you have a great weekend and have enjoyed our Bog Baby learning as much as we have.
