Reception Sunshine and Sunflowers Week 1

This half term, our topic is Sunshine and Sunflowers.
This week we have been creating a garden centre cafe and a florist shop in our classrooms. We have been busy collaging, painting and creating flowers to sell. We have been learning the technical names for the parts of a flower and their function. We have read Erroll’s garden and are beginning to plan our school garden. Please remember any garden donations are welcome :) We have made some amazing observational drawings of flowers too, using oil pastels.
In maths we have been learning about the composition of 9 and 10. We loved playing our subitising bingo game!
In phonics we continue to work in our small groups every day to practise our skills and complete our next steps.
