Year 1 Spring 1 Week 2

This week Year 1 continued to complete activities based on our focus story, 'Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge.' They thought carefully about interesting adjectives to describe Miss Nancy then they wrote a character description. The children also completed a book review and learned about the prefix 'un'.
Maths
In Maths, the children continued to look at properties of 2D and 3D shapes. They compared the shapes using mathematical language. They also focused on counting forwards and backwards from 20 and writing the numbers as words.
Topic
For our new topic 'Childhood', we began to learn about toys from the past. The children were fascinated and it sparked many interesting discussions. The children compared the toys to the toys they have today too and found that some were similar.
