Autumn 2 Wk 4
25 Nov 2021
English
We have started our new class text Superworm and focused on writing sentences using adjectives and sentences along with capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
Maths
We have focused on adding on by counting on from the number we are adding to.
Science
We have been exploring different materials and their properties focusing on translucent, transparent and opaque materials. Children used torches to see if and how light travels through various materials.
Topic
We have been learning about Sir David Attenborough and his contribution to the world in understanding the natural world and the impact of humans on Earth.
Please remember to send in a t-shirt for your child to design their superhero emblem on.
Also, a gentle reminder that earrings must be removed on Thursdays when children have P.E.
Following on from Parents evening below are links that may help you with ideas to support your child at home.

Homework.
As always, homework for the week is to log in to numbots and practice your maths skills to build fluency.
Remember to read your book-bag book to your adult at least 4 times this week – don’t forget to talk about the book. Adults, you can use the activities and questions on the last page and inside back cover as guidance for the types of questions to ask.
Each week, your child will be given a spelling sheet for spellings, covering sounds and red words they have been learning in their phonics groups. Spellings will take place on a Friday during phonics and their result can be found in their spelling book – please return this every Monday.
You are welcome to complete any of the tasks on the Superhero homework map.
