Reception Spring 1 Week 4

Mrs Moseley - 29 Jan 2025

We have started our learning about Dinosaurs and the children are so excited!!!!!!!

We received a letter and some dinosaur eggs from a palaeontologist called Professor Scout- we are unsure what dinosaurs are inside the eggs and whether or not they will hatch. So far this week we have played a variation of snakes and ladders called dinosaurs and trees- this has helped our counting on and adding on skills. We made dinosaur images using 2D shapes, recognising their names and properties. We also had a dino scavenger hunt in the hall where we had to work together to read and find the clues.

Later in the week, we will be creating pictograms, writing captions about our favourite dinosaurs and consolidating our learning about addition within 10/20.

We have taken out LOTS of dinosaur- themed books and the children have had the best time reading these with their friends. In the garden, we have enjoyed putting on dinosaur masks and role- playing dinosaurs. We can't wait for our trip on 11th Feb :).
