A great new week in Reception

07 May 2021

Hello everyone! We have been busy with our new additions this week- the chicks! Their names are: Henrietta, Chicki Micki, Batman, Eggcelent, Pecky, Chip, Yokey, Rose, Chickling and Bubblegum. Thank you if you entered our competition, there were some great suggestions. We have been writing sentences and captions in our chick diaries to follow the progress of their growth; the chicks have been a great source for us to learn all about their lifecycle and we will miss them lots.

In maths we have been practicing how to count in 2's both practically and in our books. This is quite a tricky concept and the children have done well to try and grasp this. Next week we will be moving on to counting in 10's!

Our phonics groups are progressing well and depending on your child's group, they have either been learning new sounds or working hard to consolidate the sounds they do know and applying this with CVC words/ captions.

Have a great weekend,

The Reception Team x
