Pirates Next Door

Mr Armitage - 23 May 2016

As we enter the last week of term, I would like to share some of the fantastic learning that took place in Year 1 last week.

Our sunflowers are really starting to grow. They are receiving plenty of water, sunlight and air. We will be sending them home on Friday and the children will be writing and drawing about their sunflower's progress over the half term break.

In maths we have been looking at using a number line to subtract numbers. This has enabled the children to apply both their addition and subtraction knowledge. This will be something we will continue to look at next term.

In English our learning has been around the story ‘Pirates Next Door.’ The children have been engrossed with this book and have described different parts of the story. We will be trying to write our own pirate stories this week.
