Year 1 Recyclers!

21 Oct 2014

As part of our 'Where do leaves go in winter?' topic we have been looking at birds in our area. In science children were asked how we could attract more birds to our school grounds and they came up with the idea of feeding them!

We investigated the change in weather and decided it would be a good idea to make bird seed feeders.

We read the book 'Michael Recycle' and children did some excellent role-play by becoming Miss and Mr Recycle's around our school grounds. This ignited the idea to make our own bird seed feeders out of recycled plastic bottles and containers!

Children drew their own designs and had a wonderfully glittery afternoon decorating. We are very proud of our work and hope to see more birds around our school grounds!

Ask your child to point out where their one is hanging smiley
