Aut 2 Week 5- The Pirate Cruncher.

This week in maths we have been learning about adding and taking away 1, 2 and 3 by counting on or counting back- we made a bus to help us understand taking away. We have also been working hard to learn how to add 3 small numbers together.
In literacy we have really enjoyed learning about poetry this week. I was so impressed with children's own descriptive poems. We wrote poems about boats and about the sea and ports to tie in to our text of the week "The Pirate Cruncher". We even managed to think of lots of rhyming words!
In topic we have been role playing as The Beatles and we wrote questions that we would like The Beatles to answer.
We had BRICS this week and the children loved making christmas trees- thank you to the parents for helping!! As always it was much appreciated.
Homework this week is spellings and children have been given the nativity songs to practice for our shows on the 12th and 13th.
Please don't forget to hand in your child's outfits for the play by Monday 5th December 2016.
