This week the children have been writing a setting description about the beach, using noun phrases, similes and conjunctions. We have also planned to write our own bubble journey based on the short film 'Bubbles'. The children have enjoyed imagining where their own magical bubble could take them.
Maths
In maths this week we have been learning how to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes. We have looked at minutes past the hour and minutes to the hour. Next week, we are beginning our statistics topic. The children will be learning how to make tally charts and pictograms and then towards the end of the week we will be learning how to describe turns in our position and direction topic.
We were extremely lucky to have a special visit from some owls this week! The children enjoyed watching them fly across the hall and then had a photo taken with them. These photos can be purchased, a letter has been sent home explaining how to do this.
Please remember sports day is Friday 20th June. Children are to wear a t-shirt which is in the colour of their house.
