Mr Ahmed's class update

30 Jan 2026

We have had a busy and exciting week in Year 2, with lots of wonderful learning taking place across all subjects.

English
This week, the children have been working hard on their grammar skills. They explored conjunctions and practised using apostrophes for contractions. Everyone showed great understanding and made excellent progress.

Maths
In maths, we continued our multiplication and division unit, focusing on the 5 and 10 times tables. The children have been growing in confidence and applying their knowledge well.

Science
Our science lessons have been especially exciting as we explored microorganisms. The class began an experiment to investigate which conditions are best for growing mould on bread, and the children made thoughtful predictions about what they expect to happen.

Design and Technology In design and technology, the children started creating their own fabric bag tags. They enjoyed planning their designs and beginning to construct them using a range of materials and techniques.
