Mr Ahmed's class update
23 Jan 2026
Year 2 have had another great week here at Brady Primary School, filled with energy, creativity and lots of brilliant learning across all our subjects.
Maths
This week, children have been working hard on their new multiplication and division unit. We’ve had a particular focus on times tables, and things have even become a little competitive at times as everyone tries to beat their scores. The children have shown real determination and enthusiasm. Please continue to support them at home by practising the 2, 5 and 10 times tables to keep that momentum going.
English
In English, we have begun a new writing scheme revisiting poetry. The children have absolutely loved practising and performing different poems, exploring rhythm, expression and performance skills. They also had great fun writing their own poem all about being carsick, which led to lots of laughter and imaginative ideas.
Topic
In science, we continued our exploration of microbes. Children learned about bacteria, viruses and fungi, and even had the chance to create their own imaginative microbe models. Alongside this, we are continuing our work in design and technology, developing our understanding of textiles through hands-on activities.
Reminders
A reminder to parents that children should be reading their reading books every day and recording this in their reading records. Our library day is every Thursday, which is when children change their library books, so please ensure books are brought in on that day.
