English
This week in English the children have been watching a short film called Little Boat, which is all about a boat that goes on an exciting adventure. The children have been exposed to lots of new grammar skills such as co-ordinating conjunctions (and or but) and understanding different sentence types. This week they have learned about statements and exclamations and next week they will learn about questions and commands too!
Maths
This week in Maths, the children have been recapping their number bonds to 10 and using these patterns to relate them to number bonds to 100. Practising these bonds at home is a fantastic way to support your child, as it is relevant in many areas of maths and will be for many years to come too! Hit the button is always a fun way to help them with their speed. You can practise making 10 or making 100 on the Number Bonds section

Topic
This week in History, the children looked at Neil Armstrong. Having read a class text about Armstrong already, the children were familiar with his story. They chose what they felt was the most significant event in his mission to the moon and illustrated this in their books. Science this week was lots of fun, as the children took part in different activities and measured their pulse. We worked scientifically to ensure we planned a fair comparitive test.
