W.B. 25th February

26 Feb 2025

Welcome back, we hope you had a lovely half term.

English
This week the children have been learning about recounts. This will help them to write their own recounts about their upcoming trip to Colchester castle next week.

Maths
In Maths, we have learned about the mutliplication symbol! The children having been learning that the X symbol can be read as multiply, times or groups of. Please ensure your child is logging into TTRockstars to practise daily, as we will soon begin weekly times table tests. The children are expected to know their 2, 5 and 10 times tables by the end of Year 2.

Topic
The children really enjoyed learning about castles through the ages this week. They were given images of different types of castles and asked to arrange them chronologically, thinking about the materials used for the building and the design. They really came up with some good explanations for their decisions, before the correct order was revealed!

Below is our homework map for our new topic this half term.
