Spring 2 Week 1

01 Mar 2024

The first week back is done!

To start our new half-term, we began our next writing unit: a fact file. SO far, the children have completed research all about a river of their choice. We have also recapped writing in the present tense, as well as introducing subordinating conjunctions. The children did very well applying the conjunctions to their writing.

In Maths, we have continued with our unit on Fractions. This week, we looked at a few concepts, including converting to and from a mixed number and improper fraction. We also began looking at equivalent fractions, and what methods we can use to work them out. The class struggled with these concepts, so I would please encourage you to practise this at home with your child, if possible! 4S were more confident in our lesson on adding fractions together, well done Year 4.

A big thank you to all of the adults who were able to come to our Shared Learning on Wednesday afternoon! We had a brilliant time, the children loved it and it was fantastic to see so many people there. There were some brilliant pieces of artwowkr, sewing and fact files created!

Happy weekend.
