Week 4 Summer 1

30 Jun 2023

We have had lots of fun in Year 4 this week, practising for our class assembly which is next Wednesday 5th July at 9:15. Please come and watch the chilren, they have worked so hard.

In Reading, we finished our novel for Summer term - Alice in Wonderland. Most of the children really enjoyed the book and all of it's nonsense. The children wrote a book review about it, and also did some role paly where they acted out the last scene in the courtroom.

In Science, we have been learning all about the environment and how we can help to look after it. We have specifically focussed on air and water pollution, and discussed how we can reduce our contributions to it. The children had some great ideas, such as car sharing, walking more and not using as much plastic.

During History, we looked at the specific events leading up to, during and after the Battle of Hastings. The children have been very engaged with this topic, and have gained a lot of knowledge about the Normans and why they wanted to invade England.

Have a lovely weekend.
