Week 3 Summer 2

23 Jun 2022

Another busy week for Year 4.

This week in Maths, the children have been continuing with Properties of shape, looking at angles and 2D shapes. The children have an excellent understanding of the different types of angles, and have been able to compare and order them.

In Science, the children have been learning all about our environment, and the impact that pollution is having on our planet. We are exploring different types of pollution and what we can do to reduce our own impact.

This week, we finished Alice in Wonderland in Reading. The children have really enjoyed this book and have engaged well with it, despite having some difficult vocabulary. After we finished the novel, the children wrote a book review about their likes and dislikes of the book, and other books that were similar to it.

Finally, the children have been completing their sewing in DT. The sewing is based on the Bayeux Tapestry, which links with our topic of 1066. The children have completed some incredible pieces of their own tapestry, and we have been so impressed with their sewing skills. A big thank you to all of the parents/family members who came to help us with the sewing- your help was so appreciated! Pictures of the sewing to follow.

Have a lovely weekend.
