Year 4 Update 04/03

04 Mar 2020

This term our topic is ‘Traders and Raiders’ we completed a history lesson this week learning about the different groups of people that were around during 410AD-1066AD.  We are really enjoying learning about this time period.

The week in literacy we have been learning how to include cohesive devices such as determiners, conjunctions, interesting vocabulary and pronouns to make our writing more interesting and readable. We have completed a character of Merlin and a setting description about the castle.

In maths we are continuing our work on fractions. We have starting learning about converting improper fractions into mixed numbers.

In our design and technology lessons we have started learning about Viking long ships and what they looked like. We are going to continue learning about them before designing and creating our own. Please can you bring in any carboard boxes, sticks or straws etc. that we could use when building our Viking ships 😊
