Week 3 Autumn 1

Well done Year 4 for another great week.
This week in Reading, the children have been continuing reading our novel The Firework Maker's Daughter. We have been working on our inference, precition and vocabulary skills. The children are really enjoying the story and can retell it well.
In Art, Year 4 sketched a portrait of Boudicca, focussing on using proportions correctly. The children did very well doing their sketch step-by-step, and some have produced some beautiful portraits. Next week, the children will be painting them.
For our History lesson this week, we looked at the day-to-day life of a Gladiator. This included their strict training regime. The children then created pieces of drama based on a Gladiator's day, and we had some truly fantastic pieces of role play performed as a consequence!
