Week 3 Spring 1

Well done Year 4 on another great week.
In
Reading this week, the children have been working on their vocabulary and inference skills. The children did very well making inferences about how they think a character is feeling and why.
In
English, the children wrote their final narrative piece, retelling the beginning of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. They included speech, expanded noun phrases and wrote in third person. They all produced fantastic pieces of writing.
This week in
History, the children researched the Anglo-Saxon settlement in England. They found facts such as Anglo-Saxon names of current cities, how life changed for Britons and where the Anglo-Saxons came from.
Next week in
Maths we are starting a new topic of Area.
