Well done year 4 for completing another week!
This week in English, the children have written their first drafts of a non chronological report on 1066. We also spent time as a class working to EDIT and improve this and then they wrote their final drafts. The children produced amazing non chronological reports with lovely drawings included.
In Shared reading, we went through some vocabulary in the text which was challenging. We also used the text to answer 4 vocabulary questions. The children then ordered key events from the text. On Friday, the children then inferred character’s thoughts and feelings from the text.
In Maths, we have learnt how to find missing lengths in rectilinear shape, calculate the perimeter of rectilinear shapes, find the Perimeter of regular polygons and find perimeter of polygons. Next week, we will be starting our fractions topic.
In history this week, we expanded our knowledge of key events from 1066 by learning about the battles that took place. The children worked in pairs to each create a scene from the battle, which were then put together to form part of the Bayeux Tapestry. We then went outside and split into two armies: Harold’s and William’s. We recreated scenes from the battle.
In Art, the children created their own Bankura horses out of clay!
The children also had an exciting road safety assembly this week!

The children have been given homework to complete!
We have told children to bring in cardboard boxes and empty toilet roll for a history lesson!
