Miss Bates - 06 Jun 2025

Well done year 4 for completing your first week back!

We have had a fun week! On Tuesday we went on our trip to mountfitchet castle. The children were well behaved and really enjoyed the trip.

In maths, we have been practicing our timestables in prepeation for the MTC ( multiplcation tables check). This will be taking place next week.

In shared reading this week, we have continued reading secrets of the sun king. We have focussed on our retrieval, summary and inference skills this week.

In history this week, we have started our new topic ancient civilisations. For the first lesson, we went through the key terms that will be used throughout this topic.

In French, we have started our new topic ‘in the tearoom’. The children have learnt how to say different foods and drinks in French.

In English, we have started our narrative writing topic. We are learning how to use inverted commas and pronouns within our writing. The children have also used these skills in a playscript.

Please remember to read and play TTRS for 5 minutes a time, 5 times a week.
