Miss Bates - 29 Nov 2024

Well done year 4 for a brilliant week at school.

We have had a busy week of completing our assessments this week and have been working hard in our other lessons.
In maths, we have learnt our 11 and 12 times tables as well as multiplying by 0 and 1. To support this learning at home, Timetable Rockstars is a fantastic resource to use. Children should be playing on this for a minimum of 5 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

In English, we have learned our two skills for our setting description; 5 senses and expanded noun phrases. We will be implementing these in our setting description of ‘Lizard Street’ from our core text ‘Krindlekrax’.

In shared reading, we have continued reading ‘Krindlekrax’, focusing on our summarising, retrieval and inference skills looking at using evidence from the text to support us.

In science, we used our knowledge of teeth and their uses to decide which skulls belonged to which animals. We used our knowledge of canine teeth being needed for meat eaters etc.

We have started our DT topic for this half term: ‘fresh food, good food’. In our first lesson, we looked at different packages of different food items and how these keep food fresh/ if they are good for the environment.

Have a lovely weekend, ensure you carry on with your TTRS and reading!
