Summer 2 week 5 4S

05 Jul 2024

Well done for another great week, 4S.

This week, in Maths, we have started a new unit: Position and Direction. The children have done very well understanding the new concept of co-ordinates, and have completed some brilliant independent work. They have also been using their new skills to draw 2D shapes on grids, as well as translating shapes too.

In English, we also started a new unit. We have begun preparing to write a Balanced Argument. To begin, we have looked at an example of what a good one looks like (WAGOLL), as well as learning how to use a range of different adverbials in our writing.

In Reading, we have been learning all about poetry. We have been studying two poems: The Eagle and The Crocodile. We have beeb comparing the two poems, as well as using our inference skills to make assumptions about the meaning behind each one. The children have been excellent in this unit, and I have been very impressed with their inference skills.

Have a lovely weekend.
