Autumn 1 week 6

13 Oct 2023

Well done for another great week, year 4.

This week, in English, the children have been preparing to write a set of instructions. They have looked at different grammatical features such as adverbs of time, suffixes and Standard English. Some of the children struggle to write in Standard English, so that is a target for us moving forward.

In History, we have travelled through many different invasion periods in Britain. We have looked at the Roman withdrawal, Anglo-Saxons, Picts/Celts/Scots, Vikings and finally, the Normans. The children are showing a good understanding of what it means to be a historian, and have used pieces of evidence to create historical enquiry.

During our Science lessons, we have been investigating states of matter. This has meant a day full of experiments is ahead of us! Today, the children will be creating experiments investigating evaporation, melting and freezing points. Results and pictures to follow.

Happy weekend!
