Week 4 Spring 1

27 Jan 2022

What a fantastic week Year 4 have had.

The children conducted some experiments in Science this week, investigating how sound travels through different states of matter. The children had a go at using tuning forks and putting them into a bowl of water to see how the sound changes in different mediums, as well as talking to each other through balloons and fans! Well done for your investigative skills this week Year 4.

In French this week, the children did very well learning new terms about ingredients. They learnt words and phrases for cinnamon, butter, milk and many more.

For History, the children have been learning all about life as an Anglo-Saxon, and how that differed from Roman Britain. To continue on with this topic, the children are giong to be investigating the Viking landing into Britain, and how that impacted areas such as agriculture, education and much more.

A highlight for this week has been when we began our new

unit- Playscripts. We did a lesson looking at the life of William Shakespeare, and the children were able to recall some interesting facts about him and his work. We also had a lot of the class come in wearing brilliant costumes in the style of Shakespeare or another Playwright- well done to those of you who did, you looked fantastic!

Have a lovely weekend.
