Week 2 Spring 1

13 Jan 2022

Well done for another great week Year 4.

This week we started learning a new song in Music, looking at anti-bullying. The children picked up on the beat and lyrics of the song very quickly, and we had some lovely performances.

In Science, we started our new topic of Sound. We looked at how sound travels, and why some noises appear louder than others. The children did an experiment, investigating whether different materials/your hands, affect the way you hear someone else talking.

During our Maths lessons this week, we have been looking at partitioning and column method, whilst multiplying 2/3 digit numbers, by 1 number. The children are generally very confident with their times tables and column method, but need to practice a little more with partitioning.

Below you will see photos of the children's Art lesson this week. In this topic, the children are exploring Viking Patterns and printing, and will design their own Viking Pattern on a tile and create their own printing.

Attached is a digital copy of both the Homework Map and Newsletter for this term, which was handed out to the children in physical form last week.

Have a great weekend.
