Week 1 Spring 2

24 Feb 2023

Welcome back to School Year 4.
The children have had a brilliant first week of Spring 2, and have settled back into routines well.

We started our new English topic this week, preparing to write an informal letter home from our 'holiday' that we went on on Monday. The children all looked fantastic in their holiday clothes and we had a lovely trip around the school. The children have been learning about homophones and expanded noun phrases, which they will be including in their writing.

In Maths, we have continued learning about fractions. The children are finding this topic tricky but have been very resilient and perservered with their learning. We have began looking at equivalent fraction families, including placing them on a number line.

During our Reading lessons, we have carried on with our novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We are now up to Chapter 11 and the children are so excited to meet some new characters, including Aslan, and to see what the White Witch will do next.

Have a lovely weekend.
