Week 2 Summer 2

20 Jun 2022

Year 4 have had such a fantastic week.

In English, they have been preparing to write their Newspaper articles all about the Scientist Hertha Ayrton, looking at including features such as inverted commas for direct speech, captions for pictures and writing in the third person.

In DT, the children began sewing their Bayeux Tapestry designs, inspired by our topic of 1066. The children did so well with their sewing, and showed true resilience. Thank you very much again to the mums who came in to help us on Thursday afternoon- your help was very much appreciated!

The highlight of our week, however, was our school trip to Mountfitchet Castle on Friday. After two and a half years with no school trips, the children were so excited. They all behaved extremely well and showed a great interest in learning all about the castle. Despite the hot weather the children were enthusiastic, and had a wonderful day. Below are some pictures from the day.
