Week 5 Spring 1

03 Feb 2022

This week in Maths, we started our new topic of Fractions. We began by recapping areas that the children looked at in Year 3, such as the difference between a unit and a non-unit fraction. The children are doing very well in this unit so far, tackling some reasoning and problem solving questions, as well as fluency.

For English this week, we carried on looking at features of a Playscript, including how dialogue is used, as well as colons too. The children have produced some fantastic work using these features, and I am looking forward to their final pieces that they create next week- their own Scene in our Playscript. Year 4 also did a stellar job of acting out the example playscript we have. Great drama skills 4S!

In our Reading lessons, we have focused on skills such as summarising, inference and vocabulary. The children wrote their very own Tripadvisor review of one of the fictional houses in our class novel. They wrote some fantastic feedback, explaining in detail what they would and wouldn't recommend to a friend, and why.

Only one more week left! Have a good weekend.
