Welcome back! :)
This week in class we have started our new topic, 'Road Trip USA.' We have discussed what we know about the United States and what we want learn from this topic. In History, we completed a timeline about the famous Native American Tribe, the Iroquois. The children were interested in their way of life and are eager to learn more about their culture and history.
In maths, we have been continuing with decimals, a unit the children are doing so well in! Next week, we will look at rounding decimals and ordering them. This will help us with our following unit, money.
In our Art sessions, we are taking part in the National Gallery's 'Take One Picture' programme using the image
The Finding of Moses by Orazio Gentileschi as our inspiration. For our first lesson, we discussed the image and colours and spoke in depth about the image. We then used water coloured paints to try and create some of the colours shown in the image.
Finally, we have had our first lesson on our new Science topic, Electricity. The children enjoyed learning about series circuits and then managed to make their own. They are eager to see what comes next.
