School (Easter) Holiday Free School Meals

(Please note, this does not apply to children entitled to universal infant free school meals. Only to families who received free school meals because of benefit entitlement.)
School Holiday Meal Scheme returns for Easter 2022
The Council will continue the School Holiday Meal Scheme for Easter. The scheme allows eligible families to receive £30 per child to cover the two week school break, by ensuring families can purchase food over the holiday period to replace the meals a child would have received during a school day.
The Easter application window will open for a short period from Wednesday 2 March at 9 am, closing on Wednesday 9 March at 5 pm.
Families who have previously received payment via the scheme do not need to reapply and will automatically receive the funds into their nominated bank.
Schools and early year’s settings are asked to encourage and support eligible families who have not yet taken advantage of this opportunity.
Details about the scheme will be updated on the Council’s website, with the application form going live from Wednesday 2 March at 9 am.
Families can make a new claim if;
· they did not apply during any previous application periods, or
· they were not previously eligible, however their circumstances have changed and now are eligible, or
· they would like to claim for additional children who they have claimed for previously, but were not eligible at the time, or
· they would like to claim for additional children who they’ve not applied for in the past.
Families are recommend to check that they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting their applicatiob.
